This channel is dedicated to my personal Railway Video archive from mid 1980's to the present day. All material posted was taken by myself over a period of 40 years or thereabouts. I started with Audio around the mid 1970's and progressed onto video tape in the 1980's as equipment became available. Later after the digital age came about I changed format. I do no voice over as I know there is nothing more annoying than having someone constantly talking over the action. Just as important as the visual experience is the audio, the sound of the distant train whistle, the disappearing sound of the train as it passes by. Many hours of video I have captured over this period amounts to well over 2,000 hours, and I spend many a pleasurable hour in compiling, editing and then rendering on my humble home computer and finally uploading for likewise enthusiasts to enjoy (or like I hope they do) I always welcome and respond to comments left, whether good or bad, so please enjoy, feel free to comment

Remagen, location of the famous bridge
Often wondered what Remagen was like, many years ago I was supposed to go there with Shearings but ended up at Assmanshausen because for some reason not many people booked this holiday, still with a freight every ten minutes every 24 hours I didn't complain. Excellent video -DB at their finest.
These videos are a real privilege to watch nowadays now that the traditional trains have been withdrawn.
Nice reflection but a bit after my time (mid 70’s for me) and Bletchley was my Temple. Incidentally 86242 was the Nuneaton smash casualty seen here over a decade later still running.
Many thanks for watching and for the info......Best wishes Paul....Mark
Fantastic footage 👍
Many thanks Steve and my sincere wishes....Mark
I am modelling a slightly scaled down model of Immingham TMD early 90's in 00 gauge.... fantastic footage I am trying to get my barings right in the video, because I have never been here before... which double track is the class 60 freight trains are coming from.... Habrough or the Ulceby/Brocklesby freight spur
I believe they are from the Ulceby line....Many thanks and best wishes......Mark
Anymore help with the triangle next to at Ulceby jct and the other 1 would be most helpful.
@@michaelcooke4332 I don't think I have any more info to offer on the area as I am not local, but many thanks.....Mark

A lovely nostalgic look at one of my favourite routes for watching trains! Many thanks, and best regards from Germany!
You're very welcome and many thanks for your interest in the channel......Mark
The L/bourg to Liege line was another lovely line through the Ardennes which provided some superb thrash with the diesels. When i first visited in the late 1980s CFL 1800s and SNCB 55s shared the duties from L/bourg to Liege but this later changed to SNCB locos and CFL carriages.Lovely memories from your filming i it enjoyed very much.
So many thanks and glad the video evoked fond memories for you....Best wishes...Mark
Thank you.
Many thanks to you Jerry and best regards....Mark
What a great video just listening the HST with the valenta engines brings back such good memorys of the best passenger trains ever.
You're very welcome Richard....and many thanks...more of Doncaster to come ....Mark
Lovely film, spent quite a few railway holidays on the CFL between 1989 and around 2005,loved the 1800s.Nice in your film to see the Bell Liner, those containers are from Ireland where i have photographed them, thanks for the memories.
Many thanks on the info on the Bell Liner as I did not know that and of course many thanks for your interest in the channel....best wishes....mark

Nice trip back in the 90s...
Many thanks and my sincere best wishes to you.....Mark
Fantastic! Plenty of 1600 class electrics, and the superb lash up of 6400 diesels and of course, the Koplopers . . . If only it was still like that!
Many thanks Liam.....you sound quite well travelled. I have not been out to Holland for around 20 years, in fact it was one of the last places I used my Broadcast camera which I started to use around 1997/8....More to come and you're interest is very much appreciated.....Mark
another excellent video!
Many many thanks and my sincere wishes.....lots to come...Mark
Much altered in the intervening years since......

Used to be great fun at night at Retford seeing the MGRs, mostly 56s if I remember. Before that, it would have been 20s, 40s and 76s up in the Guide Bridge to Sheffield, Wath, Tinsley areas. That was back in the 70s though. Thanks for the video, great memories of a real working railway.
You're most welcome Nigel...I wish I had been able to visit here in the 1970s. The earliest for me would have been passing through as a kid in the mid 70s on one of my merry jaunts out with my trusty tape recorder...What great memories indeed......Many thanks....Mark
@@spompey I wish I had a video camera back then instead of a 35ml SLR. Got loads of great stills but they're not the same. Not much I can do about it now though. Hey ho.
@@nigelarmstrong252 Yes Nigel I agree we all have regrets...I just wish I had a video camera like today's camera's then and had kept my early 1970s audio recordings better as they have deteriated so much or been recorded over....never get rid of the stills....best wishes and many thanks....Mark
Am I right in thinking that Victoria could be quite an unpleasant place at times back then? Have heard a few friends talking about how it had a reputation for being a bit sleazy. I suppose like so many other train stations back then, Kings Cross being the most famous example.
It was a bit of a dark looking place, but always of interest...A lot brighter now and safer.....Many thanks and best wishes....Mark
So many changes to the station and the surrounding area since (y)
Many thanks and best wishes....Mark

Brilliant footage. So good to see the 150s, 156s and 158s in their original liveries 🤩👌
As always Liam many thanks.......Mark
Excelled stuff! My nan and grandad had a van near Prestatyn right next to the train line and I used to just sit watching for trains all day back in the 80s when I was little and had hair. I remember when the Super Sprinter was considered new and I’m only 49 😂 Miss those days (and the days when you could stick your head out of the window for some fresh air). I now know what I’ll be spending my weekend watching. Cheers for uploading all these!

Great film. I had a journey in sleeper behind 409 in 98. FW was a funny little place with a lot of railway interest going on
Yes it was interesting, maybe even more now what with regular Steam....Many thanks and best wishes....Mark
Even though I know nothing about trains back then or now, this is still great to see. Brings back lots of memories and nostalgia. I used to love seeing trains, hearing them, the noises and smells. Something abit magical about it all when I was a kid. My son loves seeing trains too. We know sod all about them but have learnt a bit through playing Train Sim World 3.
That is true and many thanks for your interest always appreciated....Mark

Lovely footage of a stunning line. I did the sleeper a fair bit that year when on priv. I think it was around then the service was nearly stopped until apparently some well to do passengers who used it leant on the ScotRail and the Government to save it?

Thoroughly enjoyable video that. Plenty freight workings and loco hauled turns to get excited about. Never been to Germany but wouldve thoroughly enjoyed watching all those locos back in the day. Them bunnies for haulage must've been amazing. A rover ticket of sorts in them days would've been amazing. That 232 giving it the beans near the end, wow. Thank you for sharing.
